Absolutely incredible.
Heath Ledger races ahead of the pack and steals every scene. When he wasn't onscreen, I wondered when we would see him again.
A bit too long, got a bit ridiculous with the mobile phone location system machine, but overall, it was a top movie. -

"I'm going to make this pencil... disappear" Assuming almost everyone has seen this by now, you know what I'm talking about. That's my favorite line in the movie, that line told me exactly how badass this movie was going to be. Let alone the brilliance of the bank heist mixing right in with the school buses. Perfect. If you've still yet to see this, get off your ass and get to the theater before it's gone. Bale's raspy voice became overbearing towards the end, but it was tolerable seeing as how the rest of the movie was excellent. R.i.P. Ledger, quite a spin he put on the Joker, not as the cartoonish supervillian we all remember. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Jack's portrayal in the first Batman, but he could only act how he was written, sort of a comedic crazy, especially with the cheesy 80's music, that wasn't doing the movie any favors. Where as in this movie the Joker is just totally insane to a degree, but still well thought out and with a plan, an agent of Chaos. Well done indeed.

This movie was so amazing!! Anyone who agreess with the critics on the voice 'issue' obviously has no common sense. By far the best movie I have seen all summer. Heath Ledger was absolutely amazing and the movie seemed to be more focused on the Joker than Batman

Awesome exciting movie, Christian Bale was hot! and Heath Ledger was an awesome joker, the joker was sick, demented, psychotic, and frickin hilarious!!! this shouldnt wreck the movie for anyone one but the best part was the pencil dissapearing "trick"

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Positively THE BEST SUPERHERO MOVIE EVER MADE! Christian Bale completes the job of making the character his own and the late Heath Ledger is INCREDIBLE as The Joker - had he lived, this would have put him on the A List for SURE! DO NOT MISS THIS MOVIE!

I had received many recommendations to see this film, and I finally got to it a few days back. There was some confusion in the Netherlands about the age rating it received over here: 16+, while in other countries the age restriction was lower. But I must say that it was damn appropriate, considering the grimness on the white screen. Granted, there isn't much blood or gore, but the tone is very, very dark. And that's exactly what makes The Dark Knight such a brilliant film. None of those cheesy, cuddly Hollywood bollocks - For some people, the time has simply, unfortunately, come. I liked it better than the previous Batman film, and I hope this trend will continue. I don't know why I didn't rate this five stars from the beginning, but it deserves them.

Absolutely awesome! Regardless of the fact of Heath Ledger's death, his performance of the Joker is likely the most accurate one I've ever seen. Highly intelligent, highly neurotic, and a true embodiment of chaos. The plot was well written, and Chris Nolan did a great job directing. Only problem I had was Christian Bale as batman... The whole idea of him growling his lines bothers me. But even that shouldn't stop you from seeing this movie!

This whole movie is Heath Ledger's Joker image. He played it so very well. I saw him in "The Bros. Grimm" last night on cable. This 2005 movie with him and Matt Dillon was so far from his Joker role, I couldn't believe him.

This movie was Excellent. Christian Bale, and Morgan Freeman were amazing actors. The best of course was Heath Ledger. For a young man he did an excellent job.
My friends and I saw this 5 times in the movie theater because we loved it so much.
The soundtrack to this is absolutely amazing as well. It was very well composed.
The only person i didn't like in this movie was Maggie Gyllenhaal. I absolutely hate her. She is a terrible actor. And she's not as pretty as the old Rachel we all remember. -

Alright, ya'll! I went to the 12:01 am premere with a friend, then went to the 11:45 am show with my bro. I have to tell ya'll, ive never ever seen a movie like this before. I mean a movie with a great story, great suspense & action and with great outstanding actors. The one actor that i was shocked see'n on this movie was heath ledger. When i had heard that he was starring in this, especially as The Joker i just wasn't feel'n it. I tell ya'll when i saw this movie for the 1st time at the premere, i just couldn't believe that heath actually pulled the joker act off. He was outstanding, amazing and just great. One thing i liked about his acting was his voice. He sounded just like the joker from the cartoon; which was sooooooo awesome. Well, since Christopher Nolan isn't go'n to bring the joker back in the next sequel, i'd have to say that Heath Ledger is and will always be the best joker. The other actors that really did great in this film was of course one of my best/outstanding actors; which is Christian Bale. He is and will always be the best batman. You don't see him much as Bruce Wayne, which i think is good cause this sequel is called The Dark Knight. The batman in this film, Nolan changed a whole lot from batman begins. In The Dark Knight this batman is very intelligent and really uses awesome combat moves on criminals. Another favorite actor of mine is Morgan Freeman. He was AWESOME! He has to be the best inventor ive ever seen on a movie. He should get the best inventor of 2008 award. His inventions are sooo tight. One thing that was really cool that he changed inside the batmobile was the batpod. Oh Man! Just like comissioner gordan said from batman begins; "Ive gotta get me one of those. Dude! That batpod has all kinds of awesome weapons built into it. Like;rocket launchers, and these cool gadgets that batman used to flip the tractor trailer over that the joker was in. Thanx all to Mr. Fox played by Morgan Freeman. Alright, the next best actor was Harvey Dent played by Aaron Eckart. I was shocked at 1st, but see'n his acting was outstanding. I wasn't really familiar with his acting, but after done watch'n the film it simply amazed me. He was just right for the part, especially when he became two-face. I'd say he was the worst vicious killer in this. He shot and killed alot of people cause mostly every time he flips his coin it lands on tails. Im not go'n to give the biggest suspense part away, but i will tell u that their is one scene that is very tragic. I just hated it, cause it was sooo mean & ugly and that person didn't deserve it. I just didn't see it coming. This is far as i go about tell'n u about this film. I can go on & on, but im not go'n to. I don't wanna ruin it for anybody that hasn't seen it yet. I want them to be surprised and have an awesome time watch'n this entertaining film on the big screen. Please! Ya'll!!! Don't miss The Dark Knight. It is definetly worth you're money. Trust Me! -

This movie was awesome! Obviously, I have to already give it to Heath Ledger whose work as the Joker was excellent and very real. Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart and all the other actors were brilliant too and the plot was great. Some parts were left with a slight question mark dangling - but the movie was brilliant - it had a great story - the odd jump in there and some laughs too. The only problem I have aside from the question mark part, is the rating. I think it was too dark for a PG rating and should have been a 15 or 12A < UK certificates. Great movie - go see it!

the best movie of the summer 2008. this is not the first time The Joker is in a Batman film he was in Tim Burton's Batman which was released back in the summer of 1989 and it had starred Jack Nicholson as The Joker and also Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne and also The Batman. Jack Nicholson's performance as The Joker was good but i think Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker is much better than the performance Jack Nicholson's gave. Christian Bale i think is the best Batman in years. The Dark Knight also stars Michael Caine and also Morgan Freeman. the story for The Dark knight is : Batman and Gordon find alliance with a newly appointed DA Harvey Dent to stop a vicious killer with a warped sense of humor known only as The Joker, a threat to both the good, and the evil of Gotham City. great performances by all the cast. also The Dark knight has to be Heath Ledger's greatest ever film performance. i don't think The Dark Knight should be a 12A i think it should be a 15 and for some good reasons. maybe they rated The Dark Knight as a 12A so they can get more reviews. The Dark Knight is one of the best films i have seen this year and also the best film i have seen this summer. The Dark Knight has to be movie of the year of 2008. a great film from director Christopher Nolan.

What villains do we all think should be focused on in, what will hopefully be, a third installment? Now with a competent director, the colourful comic book villains now have unlimited potential. Penguin? Riddler? I would love to see more of Two-Face. Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Bane, Mr. Freeze, Now that we have a director who knows what hes doing we can safely put these maniacs on the screen and they will be, for the first time ever, COOL!

It was fantastic!!!.. absolutely amazing!... i dunno how christopher nolan does it but he's got talent!.. heath ledger was totally amazing and did a fantastic job as the joker!.. as for christian bale.. he's always fantastic.. i think he's the perfect batman... and the guy who played harvey dent also did a great job too!.. no wonder this movie's been no.1 int he box office for soo long... and its been beating records ever since... i cant wait for the third sequel!.. i never was a fan of comic book characters expecially batman and was NEVER interested in its movies either but this movie is sure to change ur opinion. :D
