Franco totally inhabited his character. I still like Rogen though his performance got a little repetitive. Gary Cole and Rosie Perez were not villains that I wanted to see on screen more. They screamed and yelled too much. The "Asians" didn't get enough screen time. McBride was not likable even at the end when Rogen's character came around and the three buds bonded. I liked the opening 1937 set up. Strong language and drug use worked in Knocked Up because it rounded out the characters into real people. This movie was uneven and over the top. It's sooooo enjoyable watching guys with watery red eyes hack and cough while they get overly emotional and paranoid. And they're portrayed as action stars. I also thought it was sooooo worth it to sit and watch every character's uncontrolled outbursts of profanity along with the ultra violence that kept surprising you with how many more hits everyone could dish out and take!! Is my sarcasm coming across? I sort of appreciated the creativeness of the violence portrayed, at least you see every imaginable use of weapons and destruction of bodies and property. The movie is self aware in making fun of touching moments between guys in buddy movies, and in making fun of action movie characters having lethal injuries and continuing to fight another day.

Maybe you have to be totally stoned to find this movie funny. I wasn't. The movie isn't. I get the humor, I just didn't find much..more silly and dumb and pointless after a while.

Unless you are so stoned that the food network is funny avoid this movie. What the hell were Seth Rogen and James Franco thinking? This movie was so bad I had to keep myself from leaving several times, and I regret each and every one. Most of the movie Seth doesn't act, he simply screams. Franco does a good job acting stoned, but that does not preclude you from having any other emotion but stoned. I understand the plot was supposed to be implausible but come on, it would have been better had Franco woke up a from a dream t the end of the movie. Also the director should take his lips off the bong and go back to film school.
